Fu, Charles Wei-Hsun. "The Underlying Structure of Metaphysical Language: A Case Examination of Chinese Philosophy and Whitehead." Journal of Chinese Philosophy 6 (Dec. 1979): 339-66.
Abstract
The principal objective of this paper is to investigate the underlying structure of metaphysical language by way of a case examination of Chinese philosophy and Whitehead, in response to the anti-metaphysical theses of empirical verificationism, metaphilosophical psychoanalyticism, and analytic panlinguisticism. Sections I, II, and III argue that Chinese metaphysical language escapes these contemporary criticisms of metaphysical language, and the final section examines Whitehead's speculative philosophy and language from the Chinese metaphysical point of view.
