Huang, Cristal. "On the Process of Writing in Narrative and the Creativity of Lived-experience." (Conference Paper- International Conference on Creativity and Process: East-West Dialogue 2007).

Abstract

The focus of the paper is to interprete contemporary philosopher Paul Ricoeur's ideas on Time and Narrative, especially on the process of writing that exists within the narrative.  We plan to research how subject changes and get new meaning and new perspectives after he or she faces the process of writing within narrative.  And by contemporary French Semiologist Roland Barthes' idea on signs, and French philospher on Deconstruction, Jacques Derrida's idea on sign and written sign as main approaches for our research on the narrative and the process of writing.  We also believe that by the important concept "live-experience" from Dilthey,an interpretive subject may apply history and event for the re-interpretation of life.  Our paper will continue to ask if we may use the process of writing within narrative as a basis of grasping the existence of a creative bildung.  Through this question, we plan to research the possibility of linking the study on narrative in Hermeneutics and the studies of signified and signifier in Semiology.  The contemporary Hermeneutics may obtain a new perspective on the process of writing within Narrative as the renewal of a creative bildung.
