Abstract

Cai Yuan-pei's idea on higher education and his successful reform in Peking University enlighten China's university construction towards the first level of the world. Cai Yuan-pei thought the spirit of a university should be free and democratic. In his opinion, a university develops on the advanced academic research and it should aims to students' all sided development and their personality.
