Abstract
The
logic of the individual has been one of the most important problems of
philosophy since Plato and Aristotle through Plotinus, Spinoza, and
Leibniz to Kant and Hegel. Even for Nishida in modern Japan, it is the
main theme with respect to his doctrine of 'acting intution'. Tanabe
also attempts to interpret Aristotel's logic as that of the individual
in terms of his own Triadic Logic of Species as the Dialectic. In the
following, Tanabe's interpretation of the individual in relation to
Aristotle may be elucidated from the perspective of the so-called
'Logic of Species'
